Welcome to Galleria Green, an online gallery showcasing my growing collection of abstract and contemporary Fine Art photography that challenges conventions and expands boundaries.
My work is deeply rooted in Pictorialism, Impressionism, Expressionism and Surrealism, blending these influences to create a distinctive visually compelling body of work.
The creative process begins with high-end photography though I don’t use photographs exactly as they appear straight out of the camera. They are often fragmented, rearranged and composed differently to provide diversity and contrast in tone, texture and concept — adding complexity and stimulating the viewer’s imagination. My goal is to express a feeling or mood rather than to accurately capture reality.
I use a range of techniques — both behind the camera, such as light painting and macro photography and in post-production through experimental retouching. Pixels are manipulated like pigments or clay, used as tools in the same way that painters use spatulas, oil colors or brushes to give the works a painterly appearance. Sometimes the photographs are simply enhanced to clarify the message suggesting a broader narrative. They may depict movement, highlight playful elements or explore visual paradoxes.
Some of my more distinctly Surrealist works delve into narrative storytelling weaving imaginative scenes that subtly echo fragments of life experiences. Using surreal retouching techniques I enhance the visual tension and dreamlike atmosphere, adding an extra layer of symbolic complexity.
Disruption is the key. Each piece moves beyond traditional photography by blending painterly qualities with intricate textures, vibrant colors and dynamic forms. This is achieved by breaking the foundational rules and conventions of photography and retouching, pushing my photo art beyond traditional boundaries and expectations of what photo art can be. Whether displayed on physical walls or in the digital realm, these artworks are created to captivate and inspire, encouraging viewers to discover something new with each gaze.
